About KWM

Kristen West McGuire
Kristen West McGuire, CFRE, was born in Texas, raised in Oregon…and has lived all over the great United States. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Georgetown University and an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary. Her first job was at the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. She has been a freelance writer for over thirty years and her work has been published in both secular and religious periodicals.
As a former executive director of a small non-profit and director of development, Kristen has great compassion (and flexibility) for busy non-profit executives. She believes in working with your strengths and maximizing your efficiency. Her energy and mission-focused writing has raised friends and funds for social service agencies, museums, churches and schools.
Kristen is the secretary of the board for the Coastal Georgia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and earned her CFRE in 2020. She is also a member of the Bluffton (SC) Rotary Club.
Kristen and her husband, Dan, raised eight children– all of whom are now taxpayers. (You’re welcome!) So, she has practical experience juggling competing priorities and expanding the meaning of excellence. And, she isn’t afraid to burn the midnight oil for a good cause! The McGuires relocated from Montana to the Lowcountry in 2020.
